The super-humans come up against the supernatural in a drama with very sinister implications…
Strange things befall Sharron Macready (ALEXANDRA BASTEDO) when she goes on vacation to Cornwall and becomes suspicious of happenings at the local Manor, Trennick House. She telephones Craig (STUART DAMON) and Richard (WILLIAM GAUNT) for help—but by the time they arrive, she has disappeared.
The landlord of the local inn, Porth (DAVID LODGE), denies all knowledge of her, though he agrees that there is a Miss S. Macready staying there. But she is a completely different person (ANNE SHARP)—a masquerade all part of the strange plot that gradually unfolds.
Douglas Trennick (TERENCE ALEXANDER) admits that Sharron—the real Sharron—asked to look over the house, but says he hasn’t seen her since. His wife (ADRIENNE CORRI), however, is acting very oddly: she seems to be interested in nothing but witchcraft, which is rife in the area.
A check with the local government office reveals that Trennick holds a controlling interest in a local uranium mine, the shares of which have slumped since the Government decided to ban nuclear tests.
Craig and Richard decide to search Trennick House where Sharron is, in fact, being held prisoner because of her unwanted curiosity and where Trennick, aided by Porth and the duplicate Sharron, is plotting treason. He has already printed copies of a false White Paper announcing that the Government intends to resume nuclear tests. He plans to switch these for copies of a White Paper due to be released in a few days’ time and thus plunge the world into another nuclear-testing race and cause a demand for uranium. His shares will then soar.
While Craig and Richard deal with Trennick and his gang, Sharron overpowers Mrs. Trennick, a self-confessed white witch...
